The transport sector is an essential factor of social and economic development of every country. However, with the development of the transport sector (construction of infrastructure, increase the number of means of transport, and an increase in mobility) grew exponentially and harmful impact of transport on human health and the environment. Bearing in mind the negative impact of road vehicles with the environmental regulations limiting the concentration of toxic components in the exhaust gases of vehicles, but also the level of noise that a vehicle emits into the environment with the newly manufactured vehicles, but also provided control was certain environmental parameters in the vehicle in use.
Also, due to the limited amount of fossil fuels, are taken serious steps to finding new, renewable (alternative) fuels. One of the most important alternative fuel is bioethanol which is a renewable and environmentally suitable biofuel.
The subject of this paper is investigation the impact of using mixtures of gasoline and bioethanol as an alternative fuel on the environmental parameters on vehicles in use. National legislation envisaged control the concentration of carbon monoxide (CO) and measurement of the noise level of the exhaust system during the regular annual technical inspection in the process of vehicle registration. The work shows how a certain concentration in mixtures of bioethanol with gasoline as conventional fuel, affecting two of the aforementioned environmental parameters.
